After six Formula One seasons at Toro Rosso, Renault and
McLaren respectively,
Carlos Sainz's dream came true this season. Driving for
Ferrari. With four podiums and a fifth place in the world championship, the Spaniard experienced his best
Formula 1 season so far, but it is certainly not easy for the 27-year-old driver.
More pressure and stress at Ferrari
In conversation with
FormulaPassion Sainz indicates that driving for a prestigious brand like
Ferrari brings a lot of pressure. According to him, it is not that easy and it also definitely has a psychological impact. Thus, it also brings extra stress. Despite the high pressure, Sainz did do better than his teammate
Charles Leclerc who has been driving for the Italian team since 2019.
Ferrari a dream come true for Sainz
High pressure or not, driving for Ferrari remains a dream come true for Sainz. "It's a wish I've had since I was a kid." With this attitude, Sainz always goes to the track and tries to improve himself again and again. "Should the opportunity come to fight for the world championship with Ferrari, I want to be as prepared as possible."
Next season, the Spaniard hopes to repeat or even improve on his 2021 results. Last season's good results have allowed Sainz to get a good balance and take another step forward as a driver. "Now I am ready to face all the challenges of 2022," he said.
