Sir Jim Ratcliffe is reportedly looking to bring in talent from Formula 1 to influence change at Manchester United. The President of minority owners of the team, INEOS, are looking at the person who works for a team they sponsor.
Ratcliffe has recently gave many long interviews about his team's situation in terms of many aspects. One thing that stood out was how the Red Devils are clearly behind their rivals in terms of data analysis in recruiting players, even with excessive spending.
The Briton is now aiming to improve the situation at the team that currently stand in 14th position in the English Premier League.

Expert from F1 to join?

United's recent investments on the transfer market have been more than questionable in recent years. Ratcliffe is now determined to change the situation, reportedly through bringing an expert from F1, according to the BBC.
While at first glance, switching between sports might stand out, it would not be surprising. For example, Dave Brailsford who also has a key role in INEOS' football projects, came from the world of cycling.
Moreover, a clear example of a sport in which gaining and using data efficiently is a key aspect to success is Formula 1.
Moreover, INEOS are also shareholders the Mercedes team, therefore, Ratcliffe has first-hand experience of the success they could achieve with using data the right way.
Ratcliffe is said to be looking at signing Michael Sansoni to the Red Devils. The engineer is set to leave Mercedes at the end of this season, so a move to the Premier League club could be a possibility.
According to the British newspaper, keeping the engineer in projects related to INEOS is highly desirable, and a switch to Manchester United is the ideal way to make this happen.
