With Adrian Newey already leaving Red Bull Racing's F1 operations, and then leaving the Austrian team indefinitely in 2025, they would have wanted to do without more losses to their team. However, an aerodynamics specialist has left for a top job at another F1 team in today's news. As well as that, news about Brad Pitt's new movie that Lewis Hamilton has been involved in has come out too, and there have been updates from the World Endurance Championship in Belgium.

Red Bull lose another from their team

Of course, we know the news that Red Bull will be losing the services of Adrian Newey, the brilliant car designer who has guided Red Bull to seven drivers' World Championships and six constructors' World Championships. However, there has been another departure from the Milton Keynes factory. Aerodynamic specialist Michael Broadhurst will leave to join Alpine and will work alongside David Sanchez.

Broadhurst was a Principal Aerodynamicist at Red Bull and has been there since 2021, and has been in F1 since 2007. Now, like Newey, Broadhurst is on 'gardening leave' until June, and then he will join Alpine to work as a Chief Aerodynamicist for the French team.

Hamilton and Pitt movie update

Today also saw news coming from the new Formula 1 movie produced by Lewis Hamilton and starring Brad Pitt. There is still no release date for this movie that was filmed at the 2023 British Grand Prix last year, and even with that, the cost of the movie is continuing to rise. It is already rumoured to have exceeded a price of $300,000,000, and there is also talk of pricing rising even higher, meaning it could break through into the top ten most expensive movies of all time.

WEC in action around Spa

While there is no Formula 1 action going on this weekend, there is plenty of four-wheel action, courtesy of the World Endurance Championship. This weekend is the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, and qualifying was in action today. It was the #50 Ferrari that took pole position with Antonio Fuoco behind the wheel, with the #5 Porsche qualifying in second and the #2 Cadillac rounding out the top three. There was also a huge crash for one of the GT cars at Raidillon before the Hypercar's got underway. Racing at Spa will get underway on Saturday.
