Adrian Newey's departure still provides the news in the world of Formula One. While the British master designed competed today at the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique, team principals and analysts still think about either where he will go, or how could they sign him. GPblog presents you the news today.

Newey competes in Monaco

While everyone is still wondering about what Adrian Newey is doing next, the Briton competed a Grand Prix in Monaco. The Briton drove a Lotus 49B at the famous Monte Carlo circuit, and finished fourth in 'Serie D'. It is the same car with which Graham Hill won the 1968 Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix. Eddie Jordan, in his podcast, Formula for Success, also told Newey secret about how he could prepare for such an event.

About signing Newey, Frederic Vassseur took a more caotious approach. The Ferrari team principal said "Theoretically, I have no comment on this," as he tried to remain out of conflicts in the public.

A team the master designer will not work for sure are Red Bull Racing. Helmut Marko, top advisor for the Austrians, is not worried that much about a possible domino effect. "We have had a very broad and well-positioned technical team over the years, with experienced people like Pierre Waché and younger people like Enrico Balbo and Ben Waterhouse," Marko wrote in his column for Speedweek.com. But what if more important figures, like Michael Broadhurst, leave the team? You could find out in our analysis here.

F1 drivers outside of racing

Valtteri Bottas competed in cycling this weekend in California. The Finnish driver finished 11th at the Grasshopper Adventure Series. Bottas' partner, Tiffany Cromwall could not finish her race.

Earlier this week, on Sky Sports' YouTube channel, Lando Norris was tested by a lie detector. The British driver could remain honest based on the computer until he was asked about who is currently the best British driver on the grid. You could find out his answer here.

However, one thing Norris remained honest about is did he throw any race wins before he managed to thriumph at the Miami Grand Prix. "One opportunity, and this was Qatar last year. To win the main race was maybe a bit more of an ask," Norris answered. However, the McLaren driver also underlined that he only threw away podiums, pole positions or sprint races, but never a Grand Prix.
