This season's races in
Formula 2 and
Formula 3 are set in Europe and the Middle East. That will change starting in 2023. The series will then go
Down Under.
New continent
Following the announcement that
Formula 1 has extended its contract with Albert Park until 2035, the F2 and F3 announced that they will also race in Australia. So a long journey awaits both championships, subject to approval by the World Motor Sport Council.
Bruno Michel, the CEO of
Formula 2 and
Formula 3 said in a
press release that he was looking forward to the trip to Australia:
"It further enhances the international aspect of both our championships, having them race on a new continent. It also shows that more and more circuits believe that F2 and F3 are an added value to the Formula 1 Grand Prix experience, showcasing the next generation of drivers.”More circuits?
It is unknown whether F2 and F3 will visit more circuits on other continents, such as in the United States, from next year. The full 2023 Formula 2 and Formula 3 calendars will be announced at a later moment.
