Mekies about Vettel: "We've tried so many things here, but nothing works"

Sebastian Vettel and Ferrari are anything but good in the season. The best result Vettel has achieved is a sixth place and the German regularly fails to come out of the second qualifying session. Ferrari is doing everything they can to help Vettel, they say.

"We've tried so many things with him in the two weeks here, but none of them seem to bring a breakthrough in lap times" says Laurent Mekies of Ferrari quoted by Motorsport-total.com. According to Mekies, Vettel has little confidence in the SF1000.

"I think it's our duty now to do whatever it takes to support him and make sure we translate his skills into lap time. He is an important asset to this team. We are fully behind him", the Frenchman concludes.

During the second Grand Prix at Silverstone Vettel starts from eleventh position, which gives him a good chance to score a lot of points. His teammate Charles Leclerc starts from eighth position.
