Just like last season,
Formula 1 is doing everything possible to keep the calendar intact during the coronavirus pandemic. That is why there is plenty of testing going on and therefore it is almost inevitable that there will be some positive cases.
Positive cases not immediately cause for concern
The
FIA announced in
an explanation Tuesday morning that in the week of the
Bahrain Grand Prix a total of 8,150 tests on COVID-19 were taken from drivers, team members and other personnel. Of all these people, 12 were found positive. Last Thursday it was revealed that two Aston Martin team members were infected.
No indication is given as to who the other positive cases are. 12 positive cases out of 8,150 tests is a very low percentage. 0.15% to be exact.
