The
FIA has released a statement following the dangerous situation at the
Japanese Grand Prix. The events during the race will be thoroughly investigated.
Several drivers and team bosses were very upset when a tractor appeared on the track during the safety car period. The vehicle was on the drivers' racing line.
Pierre Gasly in particular was shocked, as the driver drove past the tractor at a tremendous speed as he tried to overtake the rear under the safety car. Just before the Frenchman passed the vehicle, there was a red flag.
The
FIA has now informed that there will be a thorough investigation into the events at Suzuka. The FIA takes drivers' feedback seriously. Eight years ago, driver Jules Bianchi died when he crashed into a crane in similar conditions.
