Carlos Sainz ended Friday's race at
Silverstone as the fastest driver. The
Ferrari driver was just too quick for
Lewis Hamilton,
Lando Norris and
Max Verstappen: the entire top four finished within two tenths of a second.
Sainz fastest man on Friday
The differences at the head of the field are very small, but whether that remains the case will only become clear on Saturday. Verstappen encountered problems early on in FP2, which were not resolved by the end of the session.
There might have been more to it for the Dutchman, and the same goes for
Charles Leclerc and
George Russell. Given the lap times of their team mates, they too could make some progress on Saturday.
