No
Red Bull Racing car at the top of the standings, which makes the result of the second free practice for the Singapore Grand Prix immediately surprising. Both
Sergio Perez and
Max Verstappen failed to even get close to the Ferraris, who occupy the first two spots after the second session in Singapore.
Red Bull Racing not at the top
Both the Ferraris, both Mercedes, a
McLaren car and an Aston Martin car were faster. In the end, it turned out that there were problems with the brakes at Red Bull, Perez reported on the radio.
Sainz and Leclerc had less to worry about. As in FP1, they led the field, just ahead of Russell and Alonso. Hamilton came to fifth place, with compatriot
Lando Norris just behind him. Positive outliers from the second session were
Kevin Magnussen,
Valtteri Bottas and
Nico Hulkenberg. They finished right behind Verstappen in places nine, ten and eleven.
For
Williams, there's a lot of work to be done overnight. Alex Albon had problems with his power unit and missed important track time.
Logan Sargeant was the slowest of the drivers who could complete the session.
