Pierre Gasly is confident he will have "great moments" with Max Verstappen in the Red Bull. He's confident they can both work together, and his addition to the team won't "destroy" the Dutchman.
Gasly, currently at Toro Rosso, has signed up to replace Daniel Ricciardo in the Red Bull next season. Gasly, aged 22, joins Verstappen who will turn 21 this weekend, forms one of the youngest partnerships in F1 ever. Despite this, the team still has serious experience. Verstappen will hit his 100th Grand Prix next season.
"It's a good thing to have someone at your side who is fast. It forces us to go beyond ourselves. We will have great moments together," Gasly told Ziggo Sport.
"We are both drivers, and I will obviously give the best of myself. I want to be the best F1 driver on the grid, and he wants the same thing."
According to the Frenchman, the pairing already have a strong relationship. The simulator work competed together shows the strength of the mini Red Bull team.
"I've known Red Bull Racing for a while and have already been in the simulator," he said.
"I don't want to destroy Max. We always want to have time to get used to everything, but I hope that I can very quickly start working well with the team and the car."
