George Russell says Williams will not make "drastic" changes despite having a "fundamental" problem with their Formula 1 car. So far in 2019, they've filled up the back two spots on the grid.
Despite the results, Russell insists the atmosphere is still positive as they move forward. The Brit also believes they will be able to improve, but not for a while yet.
“The atmosphere is as positive as it can be really. Obviously, you are not going to be chilled out or relaxed when we are at the back of the grid by a long way, but we do have to stay positive and not do anything drastic," Russell told Crash.
“It’s a step-by-step process to make sure that everything is in place to build onto. There is light at the end of the tunnel, but it’s quite far away at the moment.”
Williams' season didn't start on the front foot when they had to delay testing. Over the last week, Sir Patrick Head is back involved with the team in a consultancy role.
Even in turmoil, Russell is loving life as a Formula 1 driver. In his debut season, the 21-year-old remains motivated.
“I’ve had the question a number of times about how am I finding the motivation but as I said to the guys before, there are thousands and thousands of drivers who would love to be in F1 and I am one of those drivers," he added.
