Antonio Giovinazzi's last race in
Formula 1 is over for now. The Italian will be replaced at
Alfa Romeo next season by
Guanyu Zhou, who brings many sponsors with him.
The Italian previously revealed that he is unhappy that F1 is much about money.
"That's the dirty side of Formula 1 and unfortunately it has always been like that," Giovinazzi tells
Corriere della Serra.
"I hope I can think differently about it in the future."Giovinazzi will remain active in the sport next year as
Ferrari's reserve driver, along with
Mick Schumacher.
Valtteri Bottas will take over the place of
Kimi Raikkonen. With this, the
Alfa Romeo team has a completely new driver line-up.
It was Giovinazzi's dream from a young age to drive in F1 one day, but now it suddenly comes to an end. "I was disappointed and it was difficult months." Rumours had been circulating for some time that Alfa Romeo would give the Italian's seat to someone else.
Giovinazzi is proud of the way he reacted to the news. He will leave F1 and focus on
Formula E next year.
