Haas F1 driver Romain Grosjean doesn't think Pierre Gasly was at fault for impeding him during qualifying for the Monaco Grand Prix, as the 33-year-old thinks Red Bull should have advised Gasly his fellow countryman was coming.
Gasly was eventually penalised for the incident, being handed a three-place grid penalty for stopping Grosjean.
Grosjean got the worst part of the deal, though, as his flying lap was ruined by the slow Gasly, meaning he was knocked out of qualifying in Q2 in contrast to his teammate Kevin Magnussen, who went on the Q3 and got the sixth quickest time and will now start fifth because of Gasly's penalty.
"Poor guy, he wasn’t told anything," Grosjean told Motorsport.com.
"It has got big, big consequences for me because I could’ve made it into Q3 and obviously I ended up in 13th.
"I think Red Bull massively f**ked up that one. Pierre couldn’t do anything."

Looking at the onboards, almost every other driver/engineer team is constantly confirming where other cars are on track and the delta to the cars on a hot lap. Gasly's engineer was either brain dead, or task saturated with trying to get Gasly to go HPP Position 5. That was a complete failure of the race engineer. As Gasley rounded Turn 3: Massenet, he would not have seen the fast approaching Grosean. Shame on the braindead engineer at Red Bull for this Fk up. Penalizing the driver is what it is, but where is the team imposed fine for being a brain dead engineer?
