Grosjean: Halo Going Through 'Transition Phase'

Haas F1's Romain Grosjean thinks that the newly installed halo is just going through a 'transition phase', and hopes that eventually there's no need for it anymore.
"I hope the halo is just a transition phase, and that we'll find a better solution along the way," the Frenchman told Crash.net. "Something different would be better if you ask me."
"Safety is necessary, and it it good enough to put on the car."
Grosjean, a director of the GPDA, the Grand Prix Drivers Association, said that he's not particularly bothered by the view from within the cockpit, as much as the view from the outside.
"There's no problem in driving with the halo, you can get used to that, that's fine. What makes me sad is that you can't see the drivers anymore from outside. At the end of the day, there's someone in the car driving it."
His teammate Kevin Magnussen isn't as delicate in his criticism of the Haas.
"It's very annoying and ugly," the Dane said earlier this week. "It's way harder now to get in and out of the car too, and the steering wheel doesn't come off as fast now. It's just very annoying and awkward."
He did however admit that the halo doesn't impact the driving much.
"It's fine, in the corners you look to the left and right anyway," he refers to the beam that's placed right in the middle of the driver's view.
"It's distracting but not a concern. But for me a Formula One car should be open, so this is wrong."
