Haas will not be considering their driver line-up for the 2019 season until the summer break. That is according to team principal Gunther Steiner. The American team have started strongly in 2018 but have missed several opportunities to drive home their advantage over other midfield rivals.

Steiner insisted that talks have not begun yet with either of their current drivers or outside options.

"We are not starting to talk even before the end of the summer break. It’s not in our minds.

"There’s no point to think now about it because nothing is moving.

"We focus on now to get as many points as possible because we left a lot behind already and we need to make up for it. We’ve got enough things to focus on, not the drivers."

Whilst Kevin Magnussen has shown impressive pace this season, the more experienced Romain Grosjean has made a plethora of errors such as his Baku blunder, crashing behind the safety car.
