Each week, a Formula One panel distributes points to all the F1 drivers. From this they build
The Power Rankings. In the
Monaco Grand Prix there were some standouts and some disappointing drivers. It is remarkable that not
Max Verstappen, who had a very strong weekend, but
Lando Norris received the highest points.
The
McLaren Briton got a 9.5, while the
Red Bull Racing driver got a 9.3. Furthermore,
Carlos Sainz and
Sebastian Vettel both received a 9. The most notable missing name is
Lewis Hamilton. He had a less fortunate weekend in Monaco and his seventh place in qualifying meant a tough race on Sunday.
Verstappen takes lead
He was also overtaken by Vettel and Perez on strategy, but managed to limit the damage with the fastest race lap. His poor score does mean that he has lost the lead in the championship. Verstappen now leads the Power Rankings as well, with an average of 9.0. Norris has also overtaken Hamilton, with an average of 8.7.
Hamilton shares third place with
Charles Leclerc. The Monegasque scored a 7.0 this weekend, because despite his DNS he drove his
Ferrari to pole position.
Sergio Perez makes his return to the top ten of the overall standings, in tenth position.
