Lewis Hamilton has responded to beliefs that he should be given more praise for forcing the mistake out of Sebastian Vettel at the Canadian Grand Prix admitting he's focused on "getting everything out of my possibilities".

The five-time World Champion has been almost impeccable in 2019 and once again pressured Vettel immensely before the stewards virtually handed him the victory in Canada. Hamilton's incredible consistency has forced the German to crack on several occasions in the past which has ultimately cost the Scuderia in seasons gone by.

However, the Brit admitted he doesn't need the recognition for forcing Vettel into difficult situations.

"To be honest, I do not care. I do not need recognition to be happy," Hamilton said as quoted by Speed Week.

Instead, Hamilton is focused on making the most of the chances afforded to him adding: "It is more important to me that I have made everything out of my possibilities.

"I'm not perfect god knows, I had an accident in the second free practice, that had not happened to me for a long time, but otherwise I was really good."
