If you were to give
Lewis Hamilton one weakness in Formula One, you may say it's his starts to the races. But the five-time world champion has revealed he is getting the hang of the beginning to races now.
Hamilton started the season-opening race in Melbourne in pole position, but he quickly handed that place to
Valtteri Bottas - who made the perfect start in Australia - likewise in Bahrain, where Lewis started in P3 and gave his position away to Bottas.
"I'm pretty sure the last two starts were the best in the field," Hamilton said on China and Azerbaijan. "The start (in China) was the best."
In Baku, Hamilton started in P2, a place behind his
Mercedes team-mate Bottas, and a great start from the Brit ensured an entertaining wheel-to-wheel period between the two colleagues.
"I wanted to overtake him, but at the same time, I had to be careful and give him enough space, the main thing was to defend the front row, so I had to back off," Hamilton added.
After the opening four races of the campaign, Hamilton is a point below him team-mate in second-place. This weekend in Spain, the reigning world champion has the chance to once again take over the Finn, who has started the season in excellent fashion.
