Second row on the grid may seem like a very nice result for Mercedes, but Lewis Hamilton is not happy with the result. The W13 once again bothered him during qualifying for the US Grand Prix and the Briton does not understand why no progress is being made.

Hamilton is not happy

"Definitely not happy with it," Hamilton said on Viaplay's camera . "We're trying, everyone's been working so hard to bring upgrades and somehow we're just not progressing forward. I don't know what it is, but it was a really difficult session."

Prior to qualifying, Hamilton still thought P3 or even P1 was possible. In the end, he will start from P3 due to the grid penalties of Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez, but Hamilton had hoped that result was possible on his own.

"Then we got into qualifying and I don't know it was temperatures or what, but it was a real fight. But P5 is okay, I think we can do something from there. It's just hard to know how much work is going on when the gap just stays the same, if not more sometimes. That's the frustrating thing," Hamilton said.
