Lewis Hamilton will be chasing his fifth championship this year, and the Brit has said that he somehow wants to be better this year than he was in 2017, when he seemingly had a perfect season.
The Brit is the favourite to win the title again in the public's and in the bookmakers' eye, after dominating last season by winning nine of the twenty Grands Prix. The 33-year-old questioned his own goals and aims at the presentation of the new W09.
"How can you get better?" he asked himself. "What's next for you? Is the hunger still there?" "Yes!" he answered to his own questions.
"Do you still want to win GP's? Do you still want to do as good as possible at qualifying? Are you still enjoying driving the car? Can you be better, and in what specific areas can you be better?"
"As you start the training process again ahead of another season, you start to discover your goals and what you want to achieve," he continued. "And it's quite straight forward. Somehow, I want to be better than last year this year round."
Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff then talked about how he sees his employee from Stevenage.
"I think Lewis Hamilton is the personification of hunger. He's extemely motivated when coming back from the winter break to get stuck in again. I don't think that his mentality, his hunger, will ever be a problem for him."
