This Formula 1 season is shaping up to be another successful year for Max Verstappen. In his dominant RB19, he is showing that he is the best for the third season in a row. Johnny Herbert sees that teammate Sergio Perez is far behind the Dutchman but finds it hard to blame him. He explains why.
"Perez is still miles behind Max, still a second a lap behind. On the surface that is not good enough. But it is very unfair because he is up against Max. Max is a freak, a rarity, one of the greats of the sport, a special one," former Formula One driver Herbert told CasinoSite.NL.
Perez is currently second in the world championship behind reigning and two-time world champion Verstappen. The difference is a whopping 125 points. Despite lagging far behind his teammate, Perez has still built up a sizeable lead towards the number three in the rankings: Fernando Alonso. It amounts to 40 points.
