Alexander Albon received a lot of criticism after the
Spanish Grand Prix. He was put on a lap by his teammate. An 'achievement' reminiscent of
Pierre Gasly's performances a year earlier. He was then demoted, but
Christian Horner will continue to defend Albon for the time being.
At the
Belgian Grand Prix this weekend Albon will be celebrating exactly one year for
Red Bull Racing. At that time he almost won a Grand Prix twice, but due to circumstances he never made it to the podium. Now that he still seems to be short of speed, a victory would be very welcome, according to Horner.
Hamilton was in Albon's way
"If you look at his race performances for the past 12 months, they have been great and he impresses us every week with his ballsy overtakes, that is something we have always looked for in our drivers and he certainly has what it takes."
"Lewis has been his nemesis in terms of a podium in Brazil and even a victory in Austria in the first race this year and to get one of these under his belt would have done wonders for his confidence", according to the
Red Bull Racing boss in his column for
Redbull.com.
