Red Bull Racing has officially presented the new RB18 for the 2022 Formula One season, but in doing so has been far from revealing all the details. Team boss Christian Horner admits that the car is a prototype to which many adjustments will still be made.
The same is expected to be the case for all teams. No one is willing to give away any secrets right now, and so the final versions of the new Formula 1 cars will only be seen in Bahrain. For Red Bull, it also meant that mainly the livery, and with it the team's new title sponsor, was revealed.
"Because of the new regulations, it’s going to evolve very, very quickly," Horner said during the launch of the RB18, which the team boss says will already have a different look in Bahrain. "By the time we get to the first race, the car will probably not look very much like this."
The goal for Red Bull is clear: the team wants to retain Max Verstappen's world title in 2022. "The big unknown is whether we have missed something," Horner explained. Nevertheless, he is pretty confident about the Austrian racing stable's new car. "We believe we have a good car, it's fantastic to see it today. A culmination of huge efforts by the team," said the Red Bull team boss.
