In the first few races since joining
Red Bull Racing, Mexican driver
Sergio Perez has already proved useful to the team and team-mate
Max Verstappen in a number of ways. Despite this, there is still plenty to gain, with Red Bull team principal
Christian Horner seeing potential in improving the qualifying sessions of his new acquisition.
"Checo has already driven several good races this year", the team boss is quoted as saying by
Formel1.de.
"So there is no doubt that if he only qualifies in a good position, he will become a factor." Will be fine
"He's generally very, very strong in the race, but in qualifying we still have to help him feel comfortable." Horner said. The team boss is confident that his second driver's qualifying will improve over the course of the season as his understanding of and comfort in the car increases. "But that will come", he said.
"It'll be fine," Horner stressed again.
"And a performance like that at the Monaco Grand Prix helps."
