After a controversial beginning to Red Bull’s season, as Christian Horner was accused of inappropriate behaviour, the Austrian team achieved a one-two finish in Bahrain, much to the liking of the British team principal. He only wants to concentrate on what is happening on the track.
"I've had tremendous support from within the team and within the company. It was a day about the start of the season and about starting the season in the best possible way. So the drivers did brilliantly, and the team did brilliantly. It was the best possible start for the team, for our partners, for our shareholders and everybody within the group," Horner told GPblog and others in Bahrain.
The team principal assured he only cares about his team’s performance. "My focus is on racing. What people choose to write is up to them. But my focus coming out of this weekend is on the next race in seven days in Saudi Arabia."
Asked about whether he will stay in his role until the end of the season, Horner’s answer was clear. "Absolutely. There was a full, lengthy, internal process that was completed by an independent KC, and the grievance that was raised was dismissed. End of. Move on."
Christian Horner was also asked about the potential leaks that happened ahead of the weekend. "I'm not going to comment on anonymous, speculative messages from an unknown source. They're from an unknown source, which I'm not going to comment on. So, next question."
He added: "I'm not going to comment on what motives whatever person may have for doing this. My focus is on this team, my family, my wife, and going racing. I have the support of an incredible family, an incredible wife, an incredible team, and everybody within that team. And my focus is on going racing, and winning races, and doing the best that I can."
