Red Bull Racing team principal
Christian Horner has had a dig at departed driver
Daniel Ricciardo, with the Brit saying in Netflix's new F1 documentary that Ricciardo is
"running from a fight" with
Max Verstappen by leaving the team.
It was during last summer when the 29-year-old Ricciardo announced his departure from Red Bull, as he had signed for
Renault rather than staying with the Austrian team. This raised a lot of eyebrows in the world of F1, as Red Bull are clearly the more competitive team of the two. Pundits were saying he didn't want to fight with Verstappen anymore for the number one spot at the Bulls, and opted to go to Renault instead.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Horner has a dig at Ricciardo for leaving Red Bull in the new Netflix documentary about F1 that is coming out on March 8th.
“Is he [Ricciardo] making the right career choice? My assumption is that he is running from a fight [with Verstappen],” Horner says in one of the episodes.
Verstappen and Ricciardo always seemed to get on well off the track, but with Horner saying this and with Ricciardo leaving the team, this could be incorrect.
