Red Bull Racing team boss
Christian Horner is positive after Friday at the
Sakhir Grand Prix. The longruns went very well and he even got compliments from Toto Wolff.
Max Verstappen and
Alexander Albon managed to get everything out of the car in two sessions that went without a hitch.
"We think we look very racey! I even had a text from Toto and I never get a text from Toto. He said we looked very fast on the race trim," says Horner at
Sky Sports F1.
Still, it looks like the Mercedes is faster over one lap.
George Russell managed to finish both Friday sessions fastest and
Valtteri Bottas is always quick on Fridays.
"Valtteri is always there, he always goes fast on a Friday. And George has done a very solid job. It's very clever to be at the top of both sessions. They look faster over a lap and we in the race trim," says Horner.
Young Driver Test
The British team boss also gets a question about the young driver test that will follow after Abu Dhabi. Renault has managed to put 39-year-old Fernando Alonso in the car and teams like
Racing Point are not very happy about this.
"Maybe we should see if Nigel Mansell is still available for the day. He never officially retired," jokes Horner. He says he has no problems with Alonso's test.
