Christian Horner believes that Red Bull are losing the 'best overtaker in the business as the say goodbye to Daniel Ricciardo.
Horner recalls when Ricciardo joined the team. "When we were first faced with the dilemma of who do we replace mark Webber with, there was Jean-Eric Vergne, there was Daniel Ricciardo, and there was Kimi Raikkenon."
"Our biggest concern about Ricciardo wasn't his pace, it was we hadn't seen him race wheel to wheel while he was in a Torro Rosso."
"Ever since he's got in a Red Bull Racing car he's done nothing but overtake, and arguably has because the best overtaker in the business." Horner said when speaking to AutoSport.
Red Bull had been supporting Riccirado all through his junior racing career which is why Ricciardo says that he is extremely emotional about leaving. The Aussie believes that he "needed to go at it alone and make my own decision. I had to take this step to try and be the best version of me."
Horner said that "He's had some fantastic races for us" but Ricciardo is set to leave Red Bull. Fans will be hoping that Ricciardo continues his overtaking as he moves to Renault.
