After the Saudi Arabia GP, Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner explained he does not expect Max Verstappen to leave the team. In Jeddah, Max Verstappen finished in second place, after he lost the lead to Oscar Piastri as he had a serve a five-second penalty in the pit lane.
Especially after the Bahrain Grand Prix, where Red Bull Racing had a difficult result, speculation about the Dutchman leaving grew further. Horner however underlined Verstappen's focus is on Red Bull.
“The noise has been out there and not in here. Max is working very hard with the team,” told GPBlog among others in Jeddah.
Horner once again says Verstappen stated his commitment
McLaren are currently third in the constructors' standings, with 89 points scored so far, as they are behind McLaren and Mercedes. Out of those points, 87 has been scored by the defending world champion.
Horner sees Verstappen's dedication to their goal every day. "He's stated once again that his focus is here. He's working incredibly hard on this, together collectively with the rest of the team. We're a team. We win together, we lose together. And that's the way that we operate. Our focus is on sorting the car out, which we've had a decent Saturday and Sunday here and everything's still in play," the Briton concluded.
With his victory at the
Jeddah Corniche Circuit, Oscar Piastri took the lead in the drivers' standings. He leads his teammate Lando Norris by 10 points, while Verstappen is 12 points behind the Australian.
