It's 1-1 in victories between
Lewis Hamilton and
Max Verstappen. The title fight looks set to be between the two bantams of Mercedes and
Red Bull Racing, but
Christian Horner believes it is too early to draw any conclusions.
Red Bull versus Mercedes
In Bahrain, Verstappen seemed to have the best car at his disposal, but it was Hamilton who ran away with the win thanks to the right strategy. In
Imola, Verstappen won the race thanks to a phenomenal start, while Hamilton seemed to have the better pace for much of the race.
So two opposite races, which Horner says also makes it difficult to say who has the best papers.
''I've always said it will take three or four races before we have a clear picture of the proportions. I still believe that. By the time we get to Barcelona we will have a clear picture,'' Horner told
Motorsport.com.
High Rake of the RB16B
Many people pointed out
Red Bull Racing's high rake during the winter test. Many said that the new regulations would favour teams with a high rake, while the low rake of Mercedes and Aston Martin were at a disadvantage. Horner doesn't want to hear about it.
''If you look at Imola and forget about Bahrain, it doesn't seem to be a problem. I think there is too much emphasis on it. It is like that with everything in Formula 1,
everything has to work in harmony with the rest of the car. There are no panaceas, there never have been. On some circuits one philosophy is in favour, another circuit might be in favour. And if that's the case, we think it's a bad development'', concluded the Red Bull Racing team principal.
