Nico Hulkenberg has had some highlights in his comeback season at Haas. He even seemed to be allowed to start from second place at the Canadian Grand Prix after a wet qualifying session, but the German received a grid penalty. After a three-year period of not racing full-time, Hulkenberg seems to be back.

"That took a couple of races to fully get comfortable again and to get on top of things and on top of that just learn a new car. But that's kind of natural. But yeah, I never really felt those three years that they've taken something away from me," the Haas driver told the press conference after qualifying on Saturday.

Hulkeberg has not lost driving skills

"I think if you know how to drive if you know the laws of racing and the physics of driving, they don't really change even though cars or tyres change. It's still the same thing at the end of the day," the driver said.

However, Hulkenberg's qualifying also proved to be last weekend's highlight for Haas. During the race, the 35-year-old driver dropped as many as 10 places back on the grid.
