Nothing seems to stand in the way of
Mick Schumacher's progress towards
Formula 1 now that Calum Ilott has just announced that he will definitely not make the move to
Formula 1 in 2021. For a long time the Brit was one of the contenders for a seat at Haas.
"It is time I announce that I have been told I will not be racing F1 in 2021," Ilott said via Twitter. He revealed he has known for a few weeks. "I am disappointed, but I will just work harder and do what it takes to make sure it happens in 2022.”
Ilott is currently second in the
Formula 2 championship, fourteen points behind
Mick Schumacher. This weekend, the British rider was still catching up with the German driver. For Ilott the goal is in any case clear.
"I have a championship I want to win.”
