Williams reserve driver Robert Kubica has said that he's keeping his options open for now for 2019, as the Pole is still hoping to get offered a seat on next season's F1 grid by a team.
With Lance Stroll almost certainly leaving Williams for Force India, there will be a free slot at Williams next season.
A few days ago, deputy team principal Claire Williams said that Kubica was in pole position for the seat, but things have changed since then, the Pole reveals.
"From my point of view, nothing changes," he told Polish newspaper Solokim Okiem.
"I think that the coming days and weeks will be important concerning my plans for the next year.
"I could be wrong, but I think Williams has other priorities than mine.
"I do not know why people only associate me with this team, I'm under contract with Williams until the end of this year, and after that, we'll see."
With his name being mentioned around the free Toro Rosso seats, Kubica explained that there's been no contact between him and Dr Helmut Marko. That doesn't mean he's not interested in a potential switch to Red Bull's development team, though.
"Dr Marko did not contact me, so I am not aware of this possibility. "
"But he knows where to find me if he wants to come talk to me, I want to know what will suit me best.
"I want to find a more rewarding goal, not necessarily in the short term, but more in the long run."
