Lando Norris has had a solid debut season in
Formula 1 and is enjoying his time a racer. Last weekend at the Austrian Grand Prix the Brit raced wheel to wheel with Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Raikkonen, an experience which he described as being a confidence builder. Each week Norris continues to impress and if
McLaren can continue their development, maybe one day he will be racing for a World Title.
When asked about the start of last weeks race Norris said to
auto-motor-und-sport.de "
I tried to stay in front of Lewis, which unfortunately I did not succeed. In the first corner, I hesitated a bit: Should I do it, should not I? I knew that Lewis would not risk anything with the title heading. So I'm over on the outside. In turn 4 he had me again."With more experience and more results in the back, I'm gaining more self-confidence for the first round. In the end, it is still more important for me to finish. I have to study. This is not possible if I leave in the first lap. I choose the safe option for a good reason."
Norris and his teammate Carlos Sainz both picked up some valuable points as McLaren continue to lead the midfield battle.
