Charles Leclerc had quite a fight with
Sergio Perez during the Grand Prix. He was even forced off track twice when trying to overtake Perez. Perez was penalised for both instances, but after the race Leclerc himself talked about missing speed.
"We were strong all the race with the pace but we didn't have the tyre advantage of the reverse strategy so it was very difficult to overtake. Every opportunity that I could see I was going for it. I was pretty angry in the car because I felt like I had no pace" Leclerc explained to
Sky Sports F1. The
Ferrari driver was in lap-long battles with the likes of
Daniel Ricciardo,
Carlos Sainz,
Pierre Gasly and Perez.
Leclerc crossed the finish line in eighth place and took four points back to Italy. Teammate Carlos Sainz did a little better and finished fifth. After
Lando Norris finished in P3,
Ferrari lost ground in the battle for third place in the Constructors' standings.
