Charles Leclerc admits it would be stupid of him and the team if they start to expect regular points finishes. The team finished 6th and 11th last time out in Baku.
The Monegasque driver was pleased with the results but understands how different the Baku City circuit is. Leclerc is clearly not letting himself get carried away.
“Being realistic, this is not going to happen every race,” Leclerc told Autosport.
“Ok, everything went really well, but nobody should expect the same race next time. It would be stupid.”
Marcus Ericsson has scored two points so far this season. This gives Sauber a total of 10 points, enough to keep them from bottom placed Williams.
Williams has an upgrade coming this weekend. Experienced driver Robert Kubica will drive in FP1.
In the need for improvement, Leclerc said Sauber will “work to get a similar result in the future.”
