Most things stop during F1's summer break, but not the legal dispute about their new logo. The Logo was introduced at the 2017 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The logo of 3M seems very similar.
3M, the manufacturer of post-it notes, has an older logo which it uses for its futuro brand.
Since Formula 1 earlier this year also brought a clothing line to the market with its own logo, it has come to a collision. So the continuation of the process follows at the end of this month, according to the British newspaper The Independent.
The logo of Formula 1 has only been in force since November last year, so 3M has the advantage. Formula 1 could, therefore, avoid a ruling from the court by concluding an agreement together. But 3M is not obliged to do so, so it can cost the F1 and Liberty Media a fair chunk of cash.
