Lewis Hamilton would like to see rain for the
German Grand Prix. The
Formula 1 world championship leader says
Mercedes haven't managed to solve the heat problems after a series of upgrades this weekend.
In Austria, Hamilton failed to finish on the top two steps of the podium for the first (and only) time in the 2019 F1 season. This was mainly due to the heat which downgraded the Silver Arrows performance. Hamilton warns if the heat stays, Mercedes will be in trouble again.
"It would be great if it rains this weekend. The problems we have in the heat are a lot bigger and it seems to be a problem that we cannot find a solution to quickly. We are working on it, but with baby steps," Hamilton told Sky Sports.
"If it had stayed that hot I think we would have been in trouble. Also for the next race. We are on the brink, as in Austria, but hope for rapid improvement."
Luckily for Hamilton, there's rain forecast for the
German Grand Prix. There's also rain predicted for Saturday's qualifying session. Temperatures are expected to be around 10c cooler than Friday's practice session.
