Haas F1's Kevin Magnussen is very happy with his car's pace, but he has warned that there are no guarantees that it will last.
Haas was impressive ever since pre-season in Barcelona, and continued that trend in Melbourne, qualifying sixth and seventh on Saturday. Pitting issues caused both cars to retire from the race, but a freak accident like that is unlikely to happen again, and the American team look the favourites to hold down the fourth position in the championship. Magnussen, however, isn't taking anything for granted.
"It was good to have a competitive car in Australia. I enjoyed driving the car all weekend," K-Mag said.
"But there’s no guarantee we’ll be that strong in Bahrain, so we have to work hard to try and understand the car and make sure we carry the performance forward into the next race."
"We take the positives that we can from Australia, which is we have a good car, and we know that heading to Bahrain."
"Everyone makes mistakes sometimes – we have to make room for that – but we’ll learn from that and improve together."
