Kevin Magnussen says Haas have made the right decision not to take part in testing this week.

Haas driver Kevin Magnussen has expressed his support to not "waste money" by taking part in testing at the Hungaroring with their nine other rivals this week.

Guenther Steiner, the team boss, believes that his team have all the data they need following the hectic schedule which has seen five races in six weeks.

The American side are the only team not to be taking part in the testing that's underway at the Hungaroring.

"Instead of participating in the test in Hungary, Haas is using the time to analyse the data it received from its recent Pirelli tyre test at Silverstone, from past grands prix and from our simulator work," Steiner told PlanetF1.

"Between the data our drivers have been able to gather that is directly applicable to their driving styles in our cars, and this current run of five races in six weeks, we determined our time was best spent at the factory."

And Magnussen completely agrees with Steiner's decision.

"I don't think we have much money to test anyway," Magnussen told RaceFans.net.

"In that case it's the waste of money if you don't have anything to learn.

"Of course you can always learn but you have to balance up how much you learn versus how much you spend and we could just spend that money better in our situation."
