Former F1-driver and cult-hero Pastor Maldonado has said that he's never had a good car in the sport, as the Venezuelan looks back on his career with Ziggo Sport.
Maldonado is happy with the time he's had in F1, and reveals that he's still in touch with one of his former teams; Williams.
"I still have contact with the team and I've met a lot of nice and trustworthy people there," he said.
It's not like Williams doing badly is anything new to him though, as that wasn't any different when he drove for the British team.
"That was the case years ago already, you couldn't win a race as a mid-field competitor back then and that hasn't changed.
The whole thing of him liking Williams now is a bit odd, as he fell out with the team in a big way just a few years ago. Maldonado accused the team of providing his teammate Valtteri Bottas with a better car. It never occurred to Maldonado that Bottas might have been the better driver, it seems.
Still, Maldonado won a race once. In Spain in 2012, he grabbed a very unlikely and very impressive win. Suspicions were raised about the win, but the car burned down after the race, burning all of the potential evidence with it.
"Nothing happened," Maldonado said about that conspiracy theory.
