Max Verstappen had to relinquish his lead to
Lewis Hamilton after overtaking the Briton off-track. With all the previous Track Limits violations,
Helmut Marko is having a hard time swallowing that.
Max Verstappen had to attack Hamilton at the
Bahrain Grand Prix after losing his lead with
Red Bull Racing's strategy. That attack succeeded, but Verstappen had to give the spot back afetr he overtook on the outside of the track, violating the Track Limits.
Marko bitter about loss
''If you see how many times Lewis went off track in turn four, and then Max goes off once. Then with his dirty tyres he couldn't attack, except on the last lap. To beat Mercedes you have to be perfect,'' the Red Bull chief said to
Kronen Zeitung.
Surprisingly, the competitors were also surprised by guidelines from the
FIA.
''We need to be more consistent in the future. The statements must be clear, and not a work of Shakespeare that you can interpret in different ways'', said
Toto Wolff. Race director, Michael Masi, was unaware of any wrongdoing. He is still convinced that everyone knew what the guidelines were.
