It has been reported by a Dutch journalist that Max Verstappen no longer uses Pierre Gasly's data due to the fact that the Frenchman has failed to perform for Red Bull this season. Gasly has only scored points in China so far this season but has improved since the first race in Australia.
Erik van Haren has claimed that Gasly's poor performance so far this season has meant that his teammate, Verstappen, has chosen not to use the Frenchman's data and instead he uses his own.
De Telegraaf's Van Haren said to GPFans: "Red Bull don't want the qualifying battle to finish 21-0 between Max Verstappen and Pierre Gasly.
"In China, Gasly took some time in the Verstappen car to see what it felt like. Not on the circuit but in the garage.
"He used the same setup in qualifying and then he was behind by a second. That's a bad sign.
"I've heard that Verstappen doesn't even use data from Gasly any more, although you can still help each other as teammates."
If these reports are true it could see a split between the two sides of the garage which is the last thing that Red Bull will want.
