Nikita Mazepin has come under fire following his performance at the
Dutch Grand Prix.
Mick Schumacher expects action from the Haas management, while
Nico Rosberg and
Ralf Schumacher are disgusted by Mazepin's action.
Criticism of Mazepin
Mazepin and Schumacher were battling each other for on-track places at
Zandvoort, not for the first time this season. Mazepin however seems to have his own way of duelling. On the straight he steered so far to the right that Schumacher almost drove into the pit wall. The German had to hit the brakes, but the fault still seems to lie with Mazepin.
''Such action at high speed is life-threatening. The team has to intervene. The risk he is taking does not suit his talent. He seems frustrated. Günther Steiner must intervene. Even if the money (from Nikita's father) is needed, the price can never be so high that you endanger the team," says
Ralf Schumacher at
Sky.
Mazepin unaware of any wrongdoing
Schumacher is not the only one, however. "
If I were in a duel with Mazepin on a straight, I would be really scared. It's not possible what he does there," Rosberg informed the German medium. According to
The Race Mick is hoping for sanctions within the team. "
I'm not the only driver he's done this to today, so I think more people will be looking at it, and hopefully, that will have consequences for the future.''Mazepin himself is unaware of any wrongdoing. He called the action after the race 'hard'. "That's how it should always be," he revealed, and therefore sees no problems with his action. Schumacher has the feeling that Mazepin wants to stay ahead of Schumacher at all costs.
