McLaren CEO
Zak Brown kicked off the summer break in
Formula 1 with a game of golf, along with
Lando Norris and others. However, the British driver did not come away from it entirely unscathed.
McLaren CEO Brown hits Norris with golf club
No, it was not a 'penalty' for Norris' fifth-place finish in the
Belgian Grand Prix. Brown accidentally hit his driver with a golf club, the McLaren CEO himself revealed on social media. '
Next time don't stand so close,' reads the caption to the photo, which shows Norris with a bruise.
McLaren has been a regular guest on the
F1 podium of late. The team also scored a podium finish with
Oscar Piastri at
Spa-Francorchamps, but Norris, from a fourth starting spot - following
George Russell's disqualification - failed to progress beyond P5 in the race. Nevertheless, the Woking-based team will go into the summer break full of good cheer, while rivals at
Red Bull Racing have work to do.
This weekend, Brown hosted the MotoGP
British Grand Prix at the Silverstone circuit. Whereas
Formula 1 has just started its summer break, MotoGP riders have just finished theirs. After the British Grand Prix on 4 August, the
Austrian Grand Prix is scheduled for 18 August. The temporary gravel lanes that had been installed for
F1 at the Red Bull Ring will have been removed by then.
