Frederik Vesti remains part of Mercedes' Junior Programme. The Dane is one of seven drivers in the Junior Programme in 2023. Besides Vesti, the team announced in a press release, the talents are Andrea Kimi Antonelli, Paul Aron, Kenzo Craigie, Yuanpu Cui, Luna Fluxá, and Alex Powell.
Frederik Vesti has impressed at times during his debut season in F2, culminating in his first win in the sprint race in Baku. In addition, the 20-year-old showed what he was made of on several occasions by scoring a pole position and four podium finishes. He finished ninth in the championship and should be a title contender in his second year. The Dane switched from ART to Prema this year.

Positive year

"We're looking forward to seeing how our Junior Drivers progress this season," said team boss Toto Wolff. "We saw some impressive performances in 2022, and we will continue to support them as they develop. An encouraging recent example of their progress is Kimi's Formula Regional Middle East title. All our Junior Drivers are at very different, but very exciting, stages of their young careers and I'm sure it's going to be another positive year for the programme."
Most of Mercedes' talents will be in action in karting or modest junior classes this year. Vesti will thus be in action in F2, while Paul Aron will be active in F3. He will race for the Prema team.
