Mercedes and Toto Wolff are concerned about the threat Ferrari pose at the start of the Grand Prix. Vettel and Raikkonen's starts have been impressive over recent races, while the biggest power demand on track comes right at the beginning.
"I think in Hungary it's extremely difficult to overtake. So everything's going to depend on the start of the race," Wolff said in an interview on RaceFans.
"The run down to turn one is very long so any start advantage or power advantage can be a threat for us in the first row. And we've seen that the Ferrari's have been very strong in that area."
In the dry conditions, Mercedes have been well behind on pace. Only Valtteri Bottas got close to Vettel in the final practice session. The Mercedes front-row lockout was aided by the rain yesterday and when asked about tyre strategy, Wolff joked that the Silver Arrows should use the full wets.
"I think the only tyre that really works on our car is the heavy wet. Maybe we take that one!"
