Mercedes commented on Twitter and shared the first images of the car for 2023. The team of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell have shared a small glimpse of the W14.

2022 was a disappointing year for Mercedes. For the first time since 2013, the team could not compete in the title race. The only victory of the year came only in the second-to-last race of the year, in Brazil. Both Hamilton and team boss Toto Wolff have been critical of the car on several occasions, with Wolff once referring to the car over the radio as a "sh*tbox".

The W14 - the name of the car that will be driven in 2023 - is therefore expected to be a big improvement on its predecessor. Mercedes made clear progress over the course of the season and this progress will no doubt underpin the new car.

W14 is already getting some attention

In any case, the team seems very excited to be working on the W14. Unlike the other teams, who try to keep the development of the car behind the scenes as much as possible, Mercedes takes every opportunity to give the public a look behind those scenes. A video of Russell trying on the seat was shared in early December, the first roar of the engine sounded later that month, and now fans get to see footage of the car's development. All without noticeable details of course, those are still waiting for the official unveiling and test days.

Bring back the original silver arrow, i don't want a faded grey or black, it needs to be shinning

Doubtful, looks like the rear of the tub where they mount the engine too. Wouldn't waste any paint on anything under the engine cover.

I would like that too. The black one was much prettier to me.
