The loss of Adrian Newey at Red Bull will, without a doubt, impact the Milton Keynes-based team. That is the conclusion of chief engineer Paul Monaghan. In doing so, the Englishman does argue that Red Bull still has many talented people behind it prepared to design a fast car for Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez.

The paddock can't stop talking about it. The departure of master designer Newey at Red Bull Racing. Why is he leaving? Where will he go? And how will Red Bull cope? There are no answers to that yet. What is certain is that Red Bull will have to say goodbye to one of the most important people in the organisation.

Monaghan outlines the situation of a Newey-less Red Bull

"For me personally it's a big loss because I really enjoyed our collaboration," Monaghan reveals in the F1 podcast Beyond the Grid. "I always enjoyed his way of drawing too. He just wanted to make the car the best it could be. And wherever the ideas came from, he always knew how to solve problems. So from a personal point of view, I think it's a bit sad. But anyway, he wanted to do something different, that's the way it goes," said the Englishman.

With that, Monaghan concludes that Red Bull has good replacements ready to go. "We have incredibly talented people. It's nice to work with Pierre (Wache). That is the way we are moving forward, we are still a good team," Monaghan added.
